Theme parks and character voices - past and present
THE HISTORIC TALE OF UNIVERSAL STUDIOS
Universal Studios is known for it fantastic films, spectacular attractions and the growth of its sister theme park in Florida, but did you know that it actually started with a trip to Chicago in 1905 by Carl Laemmle? It was this trip that gave Mr. Laemmle the inspiration to purchase one of many Nickelodeons that would eventually take him down the road to creating his own films, which would ultimately encourage him to build his own movie lot.
Join Theme Parkology as we travel through the historic tale of Carl Laemmle’s journey in producing a motion picture empire. Witness the early years of Universal City’s successful horror films and explore the beginning of the GlamorTrams, a tram that shuttled guest through the lot of Universal, highlighting movie sets and special effects. Now you can see the many attractions that have come and gone like The E.T. Adventure or Back to the Future - The Ride or and enjoy new attractions such as Jurassic Park – the Ride and the hilarious Simpson Ride.
As a special treat we have a rare interview with Disney Imagineer, Bob Gurr, who actually worked on the Adventures of Conan: A Sword and Sorcery Spectacular and the original King Kong attraction. He talks in detail about how he was contracted to do these rides and how they were constructed.
You won’t want to miss this exciting journey into the world’s unique and greatest theme park…
